Why I teach....
Throughout my years of working with horses, I have gained an increased knowledge about the therapeutic nature of the horse. Horses can help people become physically healthy through keeping them active and exercising. Horses can also help with numerous physical disabilities and have been beneficial through many therapeutic riding programs. I have personally seen miracles as people’s bodies physically improve through working with horses. Horses also help bring a spiritual / mental peace to troubles souls. Horses form a bond with their handlers that will bring relaxation, companionship, trust and peace to anxious minds and hearts.
“When riding a horse we leave our fear, troubles, and sadness behind on the ground.” ~ Judi Carlson
I remember a time I had an opportunity to ride with the St. Paul Mounted Police in the heart of downtown St. Paul, MN. One of the most memorable
things about that ride was the number of people and children that came out to see the horses. After hearing their repeated question, “Is that a real horse?” I was faced with the realization that I have been blessed to have horses in my everyday life and many people have never had the opportunity to see a horse up close, much less to a horse in any way. It is my desire for others to have the opportunities I have had.
Throughout my life, I have been blessed to have horses in my life. It is my dream to share that experience with others.
As a riding lesson instructor, I offer cooperative natural horsemanship lessons, training and fellowship. I incorporate real-life analogies to my teaching and work to create confident, balanced people through awareness, focus, patience, assertiveness, leadership and creativity.
I work with children and adults with a focus on safety, and leadership. A horse will follow its leader. My students will gain a horse's respect from exhibiting an excellence in leadership skills which will be taught through our program.
~ Therapeutic Riding Also Available - I have experience with Autistic, ADHD, and Low Muscle Tone students.
